Imperial George Members

A wonderful evening of Royal Arch companionship was held at Middleton Masonic Hall on the evening of Tuesday 30thOctober 2018.
The Chapter was opened by the three principals, EComp Howard Munton PProv1stAGSoj (acting as First Principal), EComp Michael Naylor and EComp Gordon Cox PProvAGDC.

Three Principals

On a report EComp Harvey Basger PAGSoj, the Second Provincial Grand Principal, was admitted into the Chapter and welcomed by the First Principal. EComp Basger thanked the Companions and introduced the Deputation which included EComp the Revd. David Halford PGStdB, the Third Provincial Grand Principal, EComp Paul Bowen PGOrg AProvGP, EComp David Dunn PGStdB AProvGP and EComp David Bristol PGStdB, ProvGDC.
A presentation was made by the Three Principals of the Chapter which touched mainly on the very beginnings of the Chapter, making reference to the founders.
EComp Basger presented a Supreme Grand Chapter Certificate in a most excellent manner to Companion Jacob Green.

Presentation of Grand Chapter Certificate

The social board was a very happy affair embodying a wonderful evening of Royal Arch fellowship with approximately 75 companions dining, enjoying fine food (particularly the Lamb Henry!) and a plentiful supply of liquid refreshment.
In his response, EComp Basger made reference to the new education project, Solomon, and Palatine Chapter who had recently joined the UGLE Universities’ Scheme, a joint project of the East Lancashire and West Lancashire Provinces. Those dining were the recipients of generous gifts – a detailed history of the first 75 years of the Chapter, a commemorative pen and a record of a star listed in the Star Name Registry.
A very memorable evening was had by all present to witness this enjoyable celebration. Here’s to Imperial George’s centenary in another 25 years’ time!
