Wednesday the 13th of April was lucky for some and was the occasion of the Installation of the Second and Third Principals at Red Rose of Lancaster Chapter. The Companions were delighted to receive EComp Harvey Basger PAGSoj, the Deputy Grand Superintendent for our Province, accompanied by a full Provincial team.

As this was EComp Basger’s first visit to Padiham in his new capacity, the First Principal, EComp Trevor M. Thomas, spoke on behalf of the entire Chapter when he extended heartfelt congratulations to EComp Basger on his preferment, before offering the sceptre in the prescribed manner.

After a truly excellent ceremony, which preceded a superb Festive Board, our Deputy Grand Superintendent paid a fulsome tribute to our newly-installed Second Principal.

EComp Keith Jackson had managed, despite being a hospital in-patient with a very serious health condition, to persuade his doctors to allow him out for the evening. The Companions praised the sheer commitment which Keith has displayed and firmly echoed the good wishes of EComp Basger, for a speedy and complete recovery.

Mention must also be made of the Third Principal who is the Royal Arch District Officer for Burnley and Pendle. EComp Tyman is a very active Royal Arch member, who undoubtedly has a great Masonic career ahead of him.

The Chapter has a forward program of events in place, which will ensure that meetings are lively, interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. While we can be optimistic with regard to the future, the atmosphere of warmth and friendship created by our late Companions will always and forever, remain a hallmark of Red Rose of Lancaster Chapter No.1504.
