Dear Sir and Brother,

Let me introduce myself. I’m Pete Maguire, one of the City East Royal Arch Area Officers (RAAO). This means it is my job to encourage Craft Masons who are not yet Royal Arch Masons to consider if they would benefit from taking this beautiful Masonic degree.

So, what might tempt you to come along? Well, I’ve convinced the Townley Parker Chapter to host a talk by internationally renowned Masonic Author Dr Robert Lomas. And I’ve persuaded him to share his thoughts about the Royal Arch degree.

On the 5th of October, 2023, Dr Robert Lomas, a founding member of Universities Chapter Yorkshire 4047, will deliver a lecture entitled, “Why is the Royal Arch Relevant to you?”

He will aim to explain the relevance of Royal Arch Freemasonry and show how it fits within the Masonic structure of The Craft degrees. He will take you through the meaning of the Entered Apprentice Degree up to how the Royal Arch of Jerusalem was set up to explain and explore what might have happened to the real secrets that were so carelessly misplaced at the end of the Third Degree.

At one time, the excellent teaching myth of the Craft told a complete story. Now, that story has become fragmented and confusing. Using a complete set of Six rarely seen but original Tracing Boards, kindly made available by Townley Parker Chapter and Manchester Masonic Hall. Companion Robert will guide you through the puzzling ruins of the narrative to help you discover where to look for the real secrets.

Don’t forget only one of the three grand masters was killed. Perhaps the real secrets survived, but where? Take this chance after the shocking revelation during your Third Degree and its careless loss of such essential secrets to discover what happens next.

Dr Robert Lomas is a quantum physicist, a retired Fellow in Operations Management, and a popular author. He has written several Sunday Times Best Sellers, starting with The Hiram Key (co-authored with Chris Knight) and more recently a Masonic Tutors Series.

Robert is a well-known speaker on Masonic Education, the organist of two lodges in Salford, and a respected translator of the works of Welsh Novelist Daniel Owen.

Robert rarely speaks about Royal Arch, and I had to twist his arm to do this talk on the significance of the degree, so I urge Master Masons to take advantage of this rare opportunity to listen to an informed insight into this mysterious degree, so you can take an informed decision if you might want to join.

Townley Parker Chapter meets Tyle @ 6:15 pm at Manchester Hall, 36 Bridge Street, Manchester, M3 3BT.
