At 7pm on Saturday 13th June 2026, Companions and their wives/partners gathered at the Manchester Masonic Centre for the annual Royal Arch Banquet, bringing together members from across the Province for one of the highlights of the Royal Arch calendar.

Following a champagne reception, guests made their way into the beautifully prepared Goulburn Suite where an evening of friendship, fine dining and celebration awaited. The annual banquet, first established in 1991 was the brain child of and inspired by, the late Col. Arthur Axford, Past Deputy Grand Superintendent, once again provided an opportunity to bring the Masonic season to a fitting close in the company of friends old and new.

The Deputy Grand Superintendent, Andrew Proctor, warmly welcomed those present and extended a special greeting to the special guests, the Grand Superintendent, Robert Frankl, accompanied by his wife Fiona.
Proceedings throughout the evening were conducted with their customary precision and professionalism by Lee Gridley, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, ensuring that another memorable occasion ran seamlessly from beginning to end.
Guests enjoyed an excellent meal in splendid surroundings, whilst the atmosphere around the room reflected everything that makes the Royal Arch in East Lancashire so special: friendship, companionship and a shared commitment to the continued success of the Order.
One of the highlights of the evening came when Andrew Proctor presented a donation of £5,000 to Robert Frankl in support of the East Lancashire 2026 Festival. The presentation demonstrated the generosity and commitment shown by the many Companions who have consistently supported the Royal Arch Banquet, resulting in helping the Festival achieve its aims and continue its support of worthy causes.
Robert expressed his sincere gratitude for the contribution and paid tribute to the tremendous efforts being made across East Lancashire in support of the Festival. He also thanked everyone present for their continued dedication and enthusiasm for the Royal Arch.

As the evening drew to a close, the customary toast to The King was given by Robert Frankl before his wife, Fiona, delighted those present by conducting the raffle draw, with a variety of prizes bringing an enjoyable conclusion to the evening.
Special thanks were expressed to Steve Boyle and Gerry Hodgson for their dedication and hard work in organising another outstanding banquet. Their efforts, attention to detail and commitment ensured that everyone present enjoyed a truly memorable evening. Particular appreciation should also be given for the exceptionally well-chosen wine pairings, which were clearly the result of many hours of dedicated consumption
and careful consideration given, by the specially selected wine tasting team and, one suspects, a degree of personal sacrifice undertaken in the name of quality assurance!
The 2026 Royal Arch Banquet once again proved to be a wonderful celebration of companionship and service, leaving all those present with lasting memories and renewed enthusiasm for the year ahead.
An evening defined by friendship, generosity and the enduring spirit of the Royal Arch in East Lancashire.
