On 12 July 2026, members of the Eastern Area once again demonstrated their commitment to serving the local community by volunteering their time at the annual Dr Kershaw’s Hospice Summer Fayre.

Throughout the day, Freemasons took responsibility for marshalling the event’s busy car park, ensuring that hundreds of visitors were safely directed to available parking spaces and able to enjoy the festivities with ease. Their friendly approach and willingness to help contributed to the smooth running of one of the hospice’s most important fundraising events of the year.

Dr Kershaw’s Hospice provides outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to people living with life-limiting illnesses, while also offering invaluable support to their families. Events such as the Summer Fayre play a vital role in raising the funds needed to continue these essential services.

The volunteers from the Eastern Area were proud to play a small part in supporting the hospice’s incredible work. While their role took place behind the scenes, it reflected one of the core principles of Freemasonry—helping others through practical service within the community.
