Thursday the 11thOctober 2018 saw Edmund (Eddie) Kenworthy celebrate the Golden Jubilee of his exaltation at Three Shires Chapter No 9397 at Westholme, Mossley.
The Principal Officer for the evening was EComp Gerry Hodson PProvGSN APGP who introduced the delegation which included EComp A. John Pearson PGStB (Assistant Provincial Grand Master for Southern Area), Donald Roberts PAGSoj, Peter Douthwaite and members of the District Team which included three acting Provincial Officers of the year. EComp Steven Boyle PProvGSwdB acted as Deputy Director of Ceremonies
The Scribe E., Ian Kenworthy read the minutes from his father’s exaltation into Chapter of Faith No 210 on 23rdSeptember 1968 at Albert House, Ashton, which was followed by a fitting tribute.

EComp Hodson outlined some of the universal acts that had happened in 1968, a very busy year! One of the many highlights was the assassination of Martin Luther King in April along with in football both Manchester clubs had a good year City winning the Football League and United the European Cup.
EComp Hodson then proceeded to detail EComp Kenworthy’s Masonic Career in both Royal Arch and Craft mentioning that he celebrated 50 years in Craft 3 years ago and was one of the Founders of Three Shires Chapter in 1993.

EComp Kenworthy was then presented with an illuminated Certificate, along with a letter of congratulations from the MEGSupt, Sir David Trippier. Following this the ‘birthday boy’ was perambulated around the Chapter to the applause of the assembled Companions.
District Chairman, EComp Peter Douthwaite, presented Eddie with a 50th Lapel Badge.
The festive board saw the Companions enjoy a wonderful meal, companionship and fitting speeches. EComp Hodson expressed his delight and privilege to cut his teeth of a 50thCelebration in Royal Arch to such a wonderful Mason and now friend and promised to return for his 60th.
