On Monday 8th October, Concord Deane 37 Chapter hosted the Joint Convocation for Bolton & Farnworth District. In the offing was something very unusual in that the Companions of the District demonstrated an Exaltation Ceremony in traditional ‘Lanky’ (Lancashire to the uninitiated) accent. 81 Companions from around the District and Province were in attendance.
With flat caps, strange accents and enough puns to make Fred Dibnah choke on his butties, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Sir David Trippier and his Provincial Deputation clearly enjoyed the Companions’ take on the ceremony. Sir David even claimed the film rights to the film he was certain to be forthcoming!
Along with the ceremony, there was also the very important task of investing the new Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, EComp Kirk Mulhearn, PProv2ndAsstGSoj for the Western Area. I’m sure the Companions of the Western Area will join with me in wishing Kirk all the best in his new role.
