Last night Bury Masonic Hall was packed to absolute capacity for the Bury Joint Convocation hosted by Prince Edwin Chapter No.128 with the principal guest being the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Sir David Trippier. Sir David was accompanied by the 2nd and 3rd Provincial Grand Principals Harvey Basger and the Rev’d David Halford and a full provincial delegation.
The three principals of Prince Edwin Chapter, Fred Blackburn, John Whitehead and Malcolm Ashton offered their sceptres to the Provincial Grand Principals which were accepted.
A presentation regarding the furniture of the Chapter Room was given by members of the Bury District Chapters, every Chapter was represented, also involved in the presentation was the Bury District RADO, Roger Bowden.
The presentation was marvellous and informative. All the participants had clearly put the work in. The APGP, David Dunn who had organised the event and collated the presentation must have been justly proud.

Once the business of the Chapter had been completed the social board commenced and what a social board it was. Great food, tremendous company and humorous speeches. The room was full and the atmosphere was second to none. Well done to Fine Dine for a splendid meal.

The evening as whole was a resounding success and showed the Bury District at its best. It also showed how alive and well the Royal Arch is in the Bury District. If you are reading this and are not a member of the beautiful Royal Arch then go to the ‘Bury District Freemasons’ page where there is a collection of photographs from this evening and you will see what an amazing evening you could be involved in should you choose to join us.

Many thanks to all involved in the organisation and the presentation of the evening and specific thanks to the members of Prince Edwin Chapter for hosting such a fabulous evening.
