Members of the Lodge, Peter Miller and the WM Rodney Schofield, presented a cheque to Ian Sanderson – (front row right) and other volunteers from the Food Bank. 

The District Chairman Doug Smith (back row left) and the District Charity Steward John Taylor (back row centre) said that they were delighted that the Rochdale District were able to support the good work carried out by the Food Bank.

Chairman Doug Smith said, “Unfortunately, many families are continuing to struggle to support themselves which often results in them relying on the food banks or going without food. It is hard to believe that in this day and age people are going hungry, but this is a real issue in our town, where we have many communities who are in need of help. ”

The money was raised by members of Harmony Lodge who meet at Richard St and who will continue to play a much needed part in helping the local community.
