Who Are We?
Westholme Lodge was founded in 1984 by a group of Mossley Freemasons. From the outset, it was the founders wish that the Lodge should offer more than the usual social board fayre after a Lodge meeting.
To that end, the Lodge runs a “private bar” for drinks prior to the Lodge meetings, aperitifs before dining, and wine and port to accompany the meal, in keeping with the founders intentions of establishing the “Westhome Way”.
The membership has a wide age range, out of its 24 members, 7 are in their thirties or early forties, and the average age is 67. The Brethren are from a range of industries and professions, and a number run their own companies.
An individual fitting into the Lodge would be someone who is enthusiastic and willing to commit to attending the regular meetings, who genuinely seeks intellectual and moral improvement for the benefit of himself and others, but isn’t looking to gain any commercial or financial advantage from membership.
Why Join Us?
Westholme Lodge has a high standard of Ceremonial work, and the Lodge meetings themselves, while being formal and dignified are held in a warm and friendly manner. In line with our founding principles, our social boards are convivial and include the drinks package mentioned previously.
WHEN WE MEET
The Lodge meets on the 2nd Wednesday in the months of October to December and February to April.
