Westholme Lodge 9101 experienced a truly memorable evening on 22 October 2025, in honour of 50 years of service by WBro. John R. Heap Pprovjgw.

The celebration was attended by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro. Wesley Marchant PSGD, accompanied by an Area Deputation.

Following a detailed tribute, presented by WBro. A. John Pearson PSGD, PAProvGM, recounting Wbro. Heap’s early personal life and his many varied interests, covering his business, family, and sporting pursuits, WBro. Marchant awarded WBro. Heap a letter from RWPGM and his official Certificate recognising 50 years of continuous membership since his Initiation into Alphin Lodge 8461 on 10 May 1975.

At the social board, all 29 brethren present, including John’s personal guests, enjoyed a delicious celebratory meal, and in response to a toast by his close masonic and personal friend of many years, WBro. Graham Barr PProvDepGDC, WBro. Heap expressed how humble and emotional he felt, feeling somewhat overwhelmed by the evening’s tribute and the many personal well wishes and cards he received during the proceedings.

In conclusion, WBro. Heap stated that he hoped his journey as a Freemason would continue, creating many more cherished memories, recollections, and friendships.
