22 November 2025 saw the last Breakfast & Learning Session of the year for the Eastern Area, kindly hosted by Middleton Masonic Hall.

Brethren from across the Eastern Area came together to support the East Lancashire Level Club and to continue their learning in an informal setting. WBro Lee Reilly opened the session with an informal quiz based on the Book of Constitutions. Splitting into 2 groups to answer question about holding masonic meetings, when, where and even how many can initiated in a single meeting. I am pleased to say it was a draw and the teams did excellently.

Next was WBro / EComp Robert Whitlow who presented the Indissoluble Link. An brilliant paper on the links between the Craft and the Royal Arch. We learnt how the ceremony of exaltation follows on naturally from the 3rd degree ceremony and completed the journey of learning the true secrets of a master mason.

Finally the session was concluded with a talk from WBro Philip Titterton which engaged the brethren into thinking about our own paths through freemasonry and our learning. How our ritual and ceremonies date back many centuries and go far deeper than we cover in our modern ceremonies. A very thought provoking talk and certainly covered many areas we will delve into in future session.

Thank you to all those brethren that have attended today, and those that have supported us at previous sessions throughout the year. Our next session takes us to the opposite end of our Eastern Area and will be in Bacup during February 2026. I hope you can join us there!
