The third of five planned East Ribble District White Table evenings being held at all Halls/rooms across the East Ribble District, took place at Accrington Masonic Hall on Wednesday the 7th of June.
Approximately 80 were in attendance which included the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro John Farrington PSGD. There were 11 Non Masonic Guests who had been invited to have a look at what Freemasonry entails and discover more about who we are, what we do and why we do it!
Once again they were all invited into the Lodge to receive a welcome and explanation of the structure of Freemasonry by the District Chairman WBro David Lightbown PAGDC, followed by the main presentation by WBro Steve Crowther PProvSGD, District Comms Officer, which is an allegorical look on the origins and meanings of Freemasonry delivered in a simple, humorous and interesting manner.
Following the presentation our (currently!) Non Masonic guests retired to another area where they could ask more questions and find our more information on what they had just heard.
Both Members and Non Member alike came together at the Festive board, enjoying a buffet dinner followed by the full toast list (with honours). The Assistant Provincial Grand Master suitably responded to 3,4 and 5, giving the Non Masonic guests present a good overview of what was happening nationally and locally within Freemasonry. A Raffle was held and raised £377.00. This was presented to WBro Farrington in aid of The Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire Manchester Bomb appeal on behalf of the District.
