The Burnley and Pendle Charity Stewards, on behalf of their Lodges and Chapters within the District, each year, look to give a charitable donation to worthy local causes, especially at Christmas.

2022 was no exception and two excellent hard-working Charities were selected by the Burnley and Pendle Charity Stewards to receive £250 each from the District Community fund.

The first Charity selected was the Nelson Salvation Army. Captain Wendy Hall was delighted to receive the £250 donation which will go to help the many families and individuals in the local Pendle communities who are struggling in the current economic climate, by providing them with essential items such as food, toiletries and warm clothing.

Captain Wendy Hall passes on her thanks and best wishes to all the Burnley and Pendle Freemasons for their kindness and generous support to enable the Salvation Army to continue to work with those most in need.

The second Charity selected was the local Healthier Heroes Charity. Andrew Powell, Managing Director, was extremely grateful for our donation of £250. Andrew will be joining Thursby Lodge on the 26th of January 2023 at Nelson House, Burnley.

The Healthier Heroes CIC Charity is an award winning,  non-profit organisation set up in 2018, to help homeless veterans and those veterans in the criminal justice system, to rehabilitate, find jobs, reconnect them with their families and secure housing by offering peer mentored support in rebuilding their lives and overcoming the barriers they face.

A great cause for Burnley and Pendle Freemasons to support and wonderful to be able to contribute to changing people’s lives for the better.

On behalf of all the Burnley and Pendle District Freemasons, can we wish you all a Very Happy New Year and all the best for 2023!
