In these times of greater hardship for all, Billie, the Tesco Community Champion, asked if the Burnley and Pendle Freemasons could join in to help local families with their Foodbank Appeal. We were more than happy to assist.

Darren Helm and Ian Salthouse from Pendle Lodge, together with Ray Evans, Burnley & Pendle District Charity Steward from Abbey Lodge, went along to the Burnley Tesco’s Extra branch on Saturday 3rd of December 2022. After a briefing from Billie, they set about handing out leaflets to all the shoppers as they came in, asking for them to kindly donate food towards the appeal by just buying a few extra, much needed items, on top of their usual shop.

What a wonderful response! The overwhelming majority of shoppers returned with items of food for those most in need and generously donated them to the Foodbank Appeal to the benefit of local people and families, heart warming and very welcome especially in the run up to Christmas.
