We have many great and esteemed masons within the Bury District. One of the most highly regarded being Paul J. E. Rink OBE, a member of the Prince of Wales Lodge No. 1012 and a Past Provincial Grand Master of the Province of East Lancashire.
Paul’s service to masonry on a local, provincial and national level cannot be counted. As stated he was the Provincial Grand Master of East Lancashire but still represents his lodge as the lodge mentor dedicating time to junior brethren to enrich their experience of the craft.
He is approachable, patient, knowledgeable and an all round great chap.
In honour of Paul’s great achievements and services to masonry the Bury Masonic Association has renamed the lodge to ‘The Paul J. E. Rink Suite’.
A renaming ceremony took place on Friday 27th April 2018. Paul and his wife, Marlene were present. The President and long time friend of Paul, Jack Huddart gave a moving speech in front of invited guests from the Hall Company and their partners along with John Griffin the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and his partner Sue.
The evening was a fitting tribute to a great man.
