Invitation Day – 23 May 2017
On a beautiful sunny day, with a light breeze, 36 members and guests teed it up at Knott End Golf Club for the 2017 Invitation Day and The Jack Levene Trophy.
As usual the course was in great condition and with the weather being helpful there were some very good scores.
Malcolm Worsley, the Society Chairman and past APGM, warmly welcomed the Brethren and their guests. He also introduced the Captain of Knott End Golf Club, Mr Jim Furlong , who also welcomed the golfers to the club.
Played as a Pairs competition, the winners of the The Jack Levene Trophy were WBro Harold Cooper and his partner Mr Eric Kerr. Runners-up were Mr Jim Furlong and his partner Mr Tony Pitt (members of the host club). The Trophy was presented to the winners by Ronnie Levene, brother of the late Jack Levene.
Mr Furlong presented a bottle of Glenfiddich to the winner of the “nearest the pin” competition.
