The ELLC AGM 2026: New Chairs, Fresh Ideas, and the Most Important Item on the Agenda… Food!

There are few things in Freemasonry quite as reliable as a well-organised meeting, a room full of enthusiastic Brethren, and the promise of something decent to eat afterwards. Thankfully, the ELLC 2026 AGM managed to deliver on all three!
The meeting brought Brethren together to reflect on the work of the past two years, welcome a new leadership team, share ideas for the future, and, of course, enjoy a little fellowship once the formal business was concluded.
A Word from the Top
The AGM began with an address from the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, setting the tone for the meeting and reminding everyone of the importance of the work carried out across our Lodges and the wider Craft.
It was an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved, recognise the commitment of those who give their time to Freemasonry, and look ahead to the opportunities that lie before us.
After all, Freemasonry may be steeped in tradition, but that doesn’t mean we have to stand still. Even the best-built Temple needs a little maintenance, the occasional fresh coat of enthusiasm, and perhaps a new set of working plans!
Out with the Old, In with the New
One of the key moments of the AGM was the outgoing address from Bro Aaron Garner, who stepped down as Chairman after two years in the role.
Two years of leadership is no small undertaking. It takes time, energy, patience, and the ability to keep a group of Masons moving in the same direction — which, as anyone who has ever tried to agree on a Festive Board menu will know, is no mean feat!
We extend our sincere thanks to Aaron for his commitment, hard work, and contribution during his time as Chairman. His efforts have helped lay the foundations for the next chapter of the ELLC, and he leaves the role with our appreciation and best wishes.
Taking up the gavel as the new Chairman is Bro Andy Robson, who now leads the team into the next phase of its work.
Joining Andy as his deputy
Deputy Chairman: Bro Sam Lane
Democratically nominated and elected to continue in their roles until the day after forever:
Treasurer Bro Carlos Pasay
Communications & Media: Bro Nick Druce
A new team brings fresh energy, new perspectives, and plenty of opportunities to build on what has gone before. We wish Andy and the whole team every success in their new roles.
New Chairs, New Ideas, New Opportunities
The AGM also saw all the new Area Chairmen take up their posts, marking an important step in strengthening the ELLC across its various areas.
These appointments are about more than filling positions on an organisational chart. They bring Brethren together, encourage participation, share good practice, and ensure ideas and enthusiasm from across the Province have a voice.
There was also plenty of discussion about ideas for the future. From developing new initiatives to finding better ways to engage Brethren and support our Lodges, the meeting provided an opportunity to think creatively about what comes next.
Of course, ideas are the easy part. Turning them into action takes teamwork, commitment, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves — fortunately, qualities that Freemasonry has never been short of.
The challenge now is to take those conversations forward and turn the best ideas into something that makes a real difference.
And Finally… The Festive Board!
Naturally, no Masonic gathering would be complete without the opportunity to enjoy some fellowship once the formal business had concluded.
With addresses delivered, offices confirmed, ideas discussed, and the future looking bright, the Brethren were finally able to turn their attention to another important Masonic tradition: eating!
Because while we may gather to discuss leadership, organisation, and the future of the Craft, there is something rather special about sitting around a table with fellow Brethren, sharing stories, enjoying good company, and remembering that friendship is at the very heart of what we do.
We won’t claim that the food was the main item on the agenda — but we suspect it received a very favourable review!
Looking Ahead
The ELLC AGM 2026 was an opportunity to thank those who have served, welcome those taking on new responsibilities, and look ahead with optimism.
Our thanks go to Bro Aaron Garner for his two years as Chairman, congratulations to Bro Andy Robson and the incoming leadership team, and best wishes to all the new Area Chairmen as they begin their work.
The future of the ELLC will be shaped not just by those who hold office, but by every Brother who contributes an idea, offers a helping hand, supports a fellow Mason, or simply turns up ready to get involved.
So here’s to new beginnings, good ideas, strong friendships, and another successful chapter for the ELLC.
And, naturally, here’s to making sure the next AGM has an equally successful Festive Board!
Keep the ideas flowing, the fellowship growing, and the working tools sharp
After all, we may meet on the level — but there’s nothing wrong with leaving the table feeling well and truly raised!*
