Over 20 dedicated Freemasons braved the overnight snow and ventured to Bacup Masonic Hall on 15 February 2025 for the first ELLC Breakfast & Learning of 2026. What better excuse for the brethren to up early on a weekend than coffee, bacon and just a little bit of cheese.
The sessions are kept informal and a good opportunity for our ‘light blue’ brothers to ask questions and learn more about freemasonry.
Bro Olly White opened the morning with an ice-breaker where we were asked what the working tools of an entered apprentice and fellowcraft mean to us in our daily life. Some very interesting conversations were had, and it was good to see how we apply the tools to our morals in our everyday living.
Following a short break for refreshments and just a little bit of cheese the ELLC welcomed Provincial Grand Charity Steward, WBro John Taylor to give a talk on his role within the province, how the festival supports the Masonic Charitable Foundation, our East Lancashire Masonic Charity and the third pillar, community engagement. The talk was very informative and it gave all brethren the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how we support both masons and our local communities.
