On Saturday 28th May 2016, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro John Farrington PSGD, Mrs Christine Farrington accompanied by the East Ribble District Chairman WBro David Lightbown PAGDC and Mrs Susan Lightbpown , along with various dignitaries, including the MP for Blackburn with Darwen Kate Hollern and Councillors Hussain Akhtar and Brian Taylor the Mayors of Blackburn and Darwen respectively ,were invited as guests to the annual Fusion Awards Ceremony held at King Georges Hall Blackburn. This is the the tenth anniversary of the awards, the event once again being hosted by television presenter Sameena Ali khan.

The Invitation was arranged by a Bro Abid Ditta, recently initiated into Freemasonry in Fidelity and Crusaders Lodge No.269 and Director/Owner of Star Tissue UK in Blackburn.

The awards are a celebration of the contributions of individuals and groups from the North west of England during the past twelve months, this years event being especially poignant as it is a decade since the event was first conceptualised, the idea being to celebrate the public servants, volunteers and charity workers from all backgrounds who go the extra mile to make their neighbourhoods unique.

The evening commenced with entertainment by talented violinist Faz Shah, which was followed by the award ceremony itself , including awards for public services , community achievements, youth leadership and many others. The evening concluded with a wonderful spread of fine Indian cuisine provided by Waheeds Buffet and Banqueting Hall Blackburn.
