On Monday 15th January, nearly 90 brethren from across the Province gathered at Bury Masonic Hall for the annual installation meeting of the Bury Lodge of Relief No.42. The event brought together members and visitors for what proved to be a truly memorable occasion.

The lodge was privileged to welcome the Very Worshipful Deputy Provincial Grand Master and honorary member, John Griffin, along with the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters Dave McGurty, Dr. Simon Archer, John Curry, Paul O’Carroll, and Wes Marchant. Their presence, alongside a strong turnout of brethren, created a fantastic atmosphere in the lodge room.

WBro David Brown, the Worshipful Master in the Chair, led the installation of the Senior Warden and Master Elect, Bro Adam James Cooper. The ceremony, which was supported by several members of the lodge, was conducted in an excellent manner and proved a testament to the dedication and skill of the brethren.

Following the amalgamation of Lodge of Relief No.42 and Bury Lodge No.5119 in 2012, this event saw the first candidate who had been initiated into the new Bury Lodge of Relief No.42 reach the Chair of King Solomon. A notable and rewarding feature of the occasion was that the lodge officers’ team comprised entirely light blue masons, which can be attributed to several years of hard work in building up the membership.

One Brother commented, “In all my years in masonry, it was one of the most well-presented installations I’ve attended. The attention to detail and genuine sense of occasion made it really special.”

After the formal proceedings, everyone enjoyed a fantastic social board. The room buzzed with conversation, laughter, and a shared sense of celebration.

Congratulations to WBro Adam James Cooper on his installation – we wish him a fulfilling and successful year!
