Who Are We?

Cornucopia was consecrated on October 13, 1923, and has recently celebrated its 100th centenary. It is still going strong.
Cornucopia is always known as a friendly Lodge and welcomes visitors anytime. In recent years, to progress Candidates, the Lodge has cooperated with other Lodges by conducting additional meetings, including ‘Passing’ ceremonies. These other Lodges include Shakespeare, Minnehaha and Mellor Lodge in Derbyshire.

Why Join Us?

Our membership is currently 23 members (April 2024) with an approximate 50% split of experienced and new masons. Our age range currently is around 25-50 years old for new masons and around 35-92 years old for experienced masons. Lodge members have a range of faiths, cultural backgrounds, jobs and skill sets. It is a true mix of different communities coming together.
We are actively encouraging younger members who want to help the lodge grow and enjoy our camaraderie in meetings and at social boards.

WHEN WE MEET

Cornucopia meets six times per year at Manchester Hall, in October (Installation), November, January, February, March and April

LODGE INFO

At the core of the Lodge are experienced Masons. The Lodge ethos is one of support, encouragement, motivation and mentoring of ‘Junior Brethren’, not least in the approach to Ritual. Lodge Social Boards are always energetic and good fun. The overall aim in both Ceremonies, the Social Board and support for wider Masonry is enjoyment, engagement and comradeship.
A community ethos drives Cornucopia’s activities. This includes active engagement with the Manchester Masons and the East Lancs Level Club (ELLC). One of our lodge members was the founder of the Manchester Level Club (MLC) which has migrated to ELLC.
