De Lacy Lodge – 4591

Who Are We?

De Lacy Lodge No 4591 is within the Northern Area of the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England.
Rishton Masonic Association was formed in the late 1910’s with a view to forming a Masonic Lodge to benefit Masons living in Rishton and surrounding area.
They eventually founded the De Lacy Lodge No4591 in 1924 & held regular meetings in the converted old school masters house, situated near the traffic lights on the junction of Blackburn Rd & Harwood Rd which was rented from Rishton Parish Church. In 1955 the Association purchased premises in Noble Street Rishton which was converted to meeting rooms upstairs with the downstairs devoted to a large social room with parquet dance floor, small bar and kitchen which was staffed by the members.
Monthly whist drives and dances were held until 1990 when the building was sold and meetings were moved to Mill House Clayton-Le-Moors. In April this year we celebrated our centenary with the Provincial Grand Master, together with full Provincial and Northern Area delegations in attendance
