Who Are We?

Founded and Consecrated on October 12th 1953, Elizabethan Lodge No. 7286 was formed in the Masonic Province of East Lancashire, to commemorate the onset of a “New Elizabethan Age” following the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to the Throne.
The Lodge has a membership from many different walks of life ranging from late 20’s to 70+ who all share a great sense of belonging and companionship with each other. The Lodge Ethos can definitely be described as “Work Hard – Play Hard” as we are not only renowned for the quality of the work undertaken in our Lodge meetings, but also for the excellent camaraderie and enjoyment of our social boards which are regularly attended by many visitors. Whilst understanding the solemnity of the meetings and the hard work required, we all obtain an enormous sense of pride and enjoyment from our Freemasonry. We are equally proud of our track record in our charitable activities, raising substantial amounts for many different Masonic and Non-Masonic Charities.

Why Join Us?

We are interested in all men with the right qualifications to join Elizabethan Lodge, but particularly we are looking for people with good morals and values with a strong desire to learn how Freemasonry can open their horizons. There is no doubt that we all enjoy being members of Elizabethan Lodge and would welcome candidates who are prepared to put in the commitment required to not only understand our order but to ensure that they themselves derive the very best benefit and experience from their membership, whilst at the same time enjoying the journey.

WHEN WE MEET

We meet at Hemsley House – Salford Masonic Hall which is part of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire, we hold eight meetings a year on the fourth Friday of the months of January, February, March, April, May, September, October and November @ 18;00. The January meeting is the Installation meeting at which we install a new Worshipful Master for the year and it starts at 16:30, we have no meeting in December as whatever the date would be it would fall right in the middle of the Christmas festivities.

LODGE INFO

Our social functions are varied and typically include a Ladies Evening suitable for all the family, Wine Tasting, Murder Mystery nights and a Christmas function with a meal on the East Lancashire Steam Railway along with other events as and when possible. The Lodge sets great store on the inclusion of wives, partners, families and friends within our Masonic circle and many new and long-lasting friendships have prospered from attending an Elizabethan Lodge social function.
We expect that all members will attend our Lodge and practise meeting in order that we can properly support them on their Masonic Journey, whilst understanding that occasionally circumstances may prevent attendance. If ever an organisation proved that “you get out what you put in” it is Freemasonry and all members of Elizabethan Lodge are justly proud of both our membership and the fellowship and companionship that we take from it, oh and the fun we have as well.
