Kershaw Lodge – 3838

Who Are We?

Kershaw Lodge was consecrated in May 1917. It is a lodge of great history and has very strong links to Ashton and what is now wider Tameside. Originally the Lodge was made up of local businessmen and shop traders. This has changed over the years and the lodge now has members across a broad range of society.

The lodge has always been a family lodge and over the years several fathers and their sons were members. Today that trend still resides in the lodge with 1 father and son, 1 father and son-in-law, this was 2 until recently when our senior brother passed away.

This type of lodge membership lends itself to a warm and relaxing environment and Kershaw Lodge has a reputation of being a friendly and welcoming lodge. This transmits itself in that at every meeting there are always guests from other lodges and at our social events.

The lodge has a mixture of senior masons as well as those who have only been members for a few years. Currently there are 4 new members with 2 more to be initiated into the lodge between Sep 24 and Mar 25. There are also 2 potential candidates who may wish to elect to join our lodge in the near future. Our membership ages range from 19 to 94 years of age.
