Kitchener Lodge – 3788

Who Are We?

Consecrated on 23rd February, 1917. As the name suggests, the Lodge has a long tradition and association with the armed forces and other uniformed services. However, there has always been a much wider membership, representative of a multitude of professions, cultures, faiths, ages and walks of life.

We remain today a small but friendly lodge with 18 members. We pride ourselves on the quality of the ritual, with its many unique aspects, that is demonstrated within our ceremonies, and it is important to us that these aspects continue to be passed down to each successive generation as they are welcomed into the Lodge.

None of which means that we forget how to enjoy ourselves. We most certainly don’t and as such, festive boards and regular social events are always a time to let your hair down and get away from the pressures of work and life in general.

Why Join Us?

“Kitchener Lodge benefits from having its own unique ritual which makes it an interesting talking point for visitors, whilst Kitchener members are always spotting something new as they visit other Lodges.
The pride taken in the delivering of the ritual rewards those who themselves like to achieve high standards. However, the Lodge makes sure that everyone is included, not just those who are good at ritual, by recognising the skill sets and importance of all the aspects that go to make up a successful Lodge; be they administering it, managing the finances, mentoring new members, supporting charity, looking after the welfare of members and their loved ones or simply ensuring that everyone is having a good time.

LODGE INFO

“We aim to run at least 3 social events a year that are open to non-masons.
These include:
• a Christmas festive meal following our December meeting which is particularly family-oriented (Santa has been known to turn up),
• a Burns Supper following our January meeting which includes aspects celebrating the life and works of the great Scottish poet Sir Robert Burns. A pipe band is usually in attendance and the haggis is well and truly toasted,
• a traditional Ladies Evening held on a Saturday in March, including toasts/speeches, songs and entertainment affording the opportunity for members to show their appreciation for those who support them each and every day.
The Lodge has a long tradition of supporting charitable work with both veteran-focused and local charities being frequent beneficiaries.
