Who Are We?

“Lime-stone Rock Lodge was established in 1822 by Henry Roberts, a designer and
portrait artist whose self-portrait still hangs in the lodge today. Assisted by Brethren
from Perseverance Lodge in Blackburn and Amity Lodge from Clayton Le Moors, the
Lodge first met in the Grammar School in Saint Mary’s Church yard. The lodge in those
days consisted of local trades people and is still made up of similar individuals to this
day.”

Why Join Us?

“Our focus is on the traditional ritual that we perform, often sounding rather mysterious to visitors. But we also enjoy our camaraderie and our fund-raising efforts which both add to the overall experience of being a member of 369.
Our Lodge is particularly attractive to join to experience our traditional values whilst combining the progressive and modern outlook that we enjoy. We regularly greet joining members from other lodges and the warmth of our welcome has often led them to want to stay with us. “

WHEN WE MEET

The lodge meets in the Masonic Rooms above the Conservative Club in Clitheroe on the second Thursday of the months of February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December. We practice on the three Mondays prior to the Lodge Meeting, the first of these Mondays is particularly aimed at our Junior Brethren to give them chance to ask questions and explore their role in the Lodge.

LODGE INFO

Our social activities vary from year to year but we usually have at least one black tie dinner dance as well as less formal events such as barbecues, meeting for a curry or walks in the summer (usually ending at a pub). We are keen to volunteer our help with charitable events and we hold an open day at the Lodge Room to coincide with the Clitheroe Food Festival each year in August.
