Who Are We?

The Lodge of Friendship 44 is one of Manchester’s oldest Lodge’s being some 270 years old. During this time, the Lodge has developed many traditions which are unique to it. The Lodge is also an Atholl Lodge and is a member of the Association of Atholl Lodges but despite its long history is constantly evolving and changing to the demands of the 21st century

Why Join Us?

The ideal candidate for 44 would be a man who is aged 20-50 years old, lives or works close to the M60. He must be able to commit the time to the lodge meetings and rehearsals. He should be looking to join an inclusive environment with an open mind where the emphasis is very much on establishing long lasting friendships and support for charitable giving

WHEN WE MEET

Friendship meets at Manchester Hall, in the City centre, on the first Friday of September, October, January, February, April, and May. Its Installation meeting takes place in October, and we still hold a traditional style Ladies Evening,usually in March. Currently, the fees are set at £245 and the dining costs are £30 – 35 each meeting which includes a private bar.

The Lodge demographic truly represents the cosmopolitan nature of Manchester amongst its membership it can boast Congolese, Italian, Czech, Sri Lankan, Irish, Polish, and Sardinian, with a wide range of experience and ages

The Lodge will look to recruit one or two candidates per season so that each new member can be given the appropriate level of mentoring. This will also allow each new member to move through the various offices in the Lodge in an acceptable period of time
