Who Are We?

Monarch Lodge began in 1909 in Farnworth before moving to Salford and has a rich history in the area. In recent decades it became a railway Lodge, and while we still have a number of members that have been on the rails, we also have an increasing diversity of other roles and professions.

The Lodge currently has a large percentage of newer Freemasons, creating an exciting environment of vibrancy and learning. We strive to improve ourselves and help others to be the best we can be with regular practices and a fantastic mentoring programme.

While we may appear to be a relatively small Lodge, the quality and camaraderie within means that we can fully focus on, involve and include new members from the moment they join.

We actively encourage and facilitate visiting of other Lodges to expand our friendships and knowledge, you will always find someone to take you visiting and be able to answer any questions you may have.

Why Join Us?

You can get involved in the Lodge straight away and enjoy the learning and mentoring from seasoned Masons. We encourage questions, will take you visiting, teach you what you need to know, and will look after you well. If you are directly involved in charitable work we will support you in your endeavours.

We are enthusiastic about what we do, which invigorates new members, supporting them to do as much, or as little, as they wish to get involved in. You will never feel pressured, just encouraged to improve your Masonic knowledge little by little.

In joining Monarch Lodge, you will become part of an extremely friendly, warm and most welcoming Lodge – this is demonstrated by us always having visitors who come again and again. All we ask is you have a good sense of humour mixed in with seriousness where required.
