Old Boltonians Lodge – 5814

Who Are We?

We were Consecrated on 27th October 1939, the Lodge being created for Old Boys of Bolton School. About 15 years ago, this was changed to allow all to be members but the majority are Old Boys.
We have 22 members with an age range of 25-85, with only a few for whom it is their Mother Lodge.

Why Join Us?

This is a Lodge with a difference meeting in magnificent buildings and grounds which make up Bolton School on Chorley New Road. This creates a unique and lasting experience for all who attend.
The social aspects of the regular meetings allow the opportunity for all to mix and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere whilst the Installation in the amazing Great Hall offers all the full traditions of the Ceremony. The Social Board on this occasion is held in the
School Arts Centre, the converted Swimming Pool dating back to the beginning of the last century.

WHEN WE MEET

We meet in the evening on the last Friday of September, October, November, February and March with the Installation on the last Saturday in April.
The regular meetings are in the School Library with an informal buffet for the social board. However, the Installation is a full meeting with the dinner in the School Arts Centre.
The Practices and Lodge Committee meetings are held on the two Thursdays before the meeting at Bolton Masonic Hall.

LODGE INFO

Our main aim from a charity view is to support the Bursary Scheme at the School. We feel it is vital for children whose parents cannot afford to pay the fees associated with the School to be able to benefit. We also support regular local charities in the area.
We have an annual garden party for members and their families and share other activities with other Lodges.
We are also a member of the Federation of School Lodges and have healthy relationships with the Masonic Lodges of similar Schools around the country.
