Who Are We?
“Peaceful Valley Lodge No. 4111 was consecrated on the 15th November 1920 by the then
Deputy Provincial Grand Master W.Bro. Lt.Col. Sir Alan J. Sykes Bart, M.P. P.G.D. (Eng)
in the United Methodist Free Church School, Duckworth Street, Darwen.
We were set up as a working men’s Lodge, friendly and sociable for men from all walks of
life, which is still true to this day, with a vast range of professions within the Lodge, motor
mechanics, accountants, company directors, builders, heating engineers, farmers, ex service
men, HGV Drivers a vast arrange of men who gel extremely well, we pride ourselves in
helping each other within the Lodge and having a very friendly and happy environment.
We celebrated our Centenary last year, a little late through Covid and are proud of the fact
that until Covid, no Master served more than one year.
We are, currently a medium sized Lodge with around 30 members so new members of the
right qualifications would be very much welcomed.”

Why Join Us?
We work on the assumption, as all masons do and that is to take good men and make
them better, by expanding their Masonic knowledge and making their general
confidence grow and to become better men in society.
We believe that our work as Masons within the Lodge, should be carried out with
dignity respect and decorum, but all carried out with a smile on our faces and in a
happy environment where everyone is equal.
WHEN WE MEET
Our Lodge nights are held on the first Monday of each month from October to June
excluding bank Holidays when we move to the 2nd Monday in the month. Our instruction and practise nights are every other Monday night from starting in September through to
May. We hold a committee meeting on the Monday following the Lodge meeting night
to which all Brethren of the Lodge are invited.
LODGE INFO
Our Charity work involves collecting money for worthy causes both Masonic and Non- Masonic and supporting our own Provincial and Grand Lodge Charities too. It is up to the reigning Master of each year to choose his social events and Ladies Evenings as he thinks fit.
