Who Are We?

Zetland Lodge was founded in 1861 and first met at the Duke of Lancaster Inn, the members then made 41 Crescent their home by converting the house into a Masonic Hall. The Earl of Derby wished for every Lodge to have a purpose built Masonic Hall, so between 1928 and 1931 the members worked on the construction of what is now known as Hemsley House. Zetland were the first Lodge to hold a meeting in the new hall in September 1931 when 139 Masons gathered for the celebration.

The membership is a mix of experienced Masons and those relatively new to the order, we are a happy lodge which is proud of the work we do and the history of the Lodge, each member is a Mentor, we are constantly learning from each other.

We enjoy receiving visitors to the Lodge and regularly put on a Lecture of some form relating to Freemasonry if there is no specific Lodge business to conduct.
