On behalf of East Lancashire Hospice, six East Ribble District Freemasons marshalled the Blackburn Rovers match day parking for their FA Cup tie with Manchester United
The marshalling started early for two of the volunteers who were manning the Hospice’s own car park to direct BT Sports employees to their parking spaces.
Later in the day the other four volunteers marshalled the car park at Darwen Vale School. These volunteers were so busy with the number of away fans that had come to Blackburn to support United, that the car park was full and had to be closed in just 50 minutes.
The results of the marshalling were much better than the results of the football, with Rovers losing 2-1 to United, whereas the marshalling raised nearly £1,600 for the Hospice.
