Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s FC, based in Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, is a football club consisting of two senior teams and nine junior sides.

The Under 13’s side, managed by Robert Airey and assisted by Nick Murray play in the East Lancashire Football Alliance League on Sunday mornings.  The current team and management have been together since Under 6 level.

The team are planning to enter the Gothia Cup in Sweden.  The Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international football tournament.  Held each year, this event attracts around 1700 teams from 80 nations, playing around 4500 games on 110 playing fields.

The cost of the trip is approximately £ 550 per person to attend.

The event will be a real test for the team and will help them in both playing ability and team bonding.  It will be a really amazing life experience for the boys attending and will help them develop as footballers, team-mates and people.

East Ribble Freemasons were very happy to contribute £ 250 to the team to help reduce the cost per person to attend the event.
