On Saturday 23rd September, Freemasons and their families from across the Rochdale District joined APGM WBro Peter Rhodes and District Chair W Bro Doug Smith for a relaxing stroll to close off the summer.

Starting at The Summit pub, the strollers first joined the Rochdale Canal towpath to take in the sights at its highest point, before enjoying watching pleasure craft navigate some of the canal’s 92 locks.

They later wandered through Walsden, to view some of the wonderfully creative and topical entries in the Walsden Scarecrow Festival.

Ending the stroll at Todmorden Masonic Hall (the first purpose-built Masonic Hall in East Lancashire), the strollers enjoyed some well earned refreshments and social activities
