WBro Mike Stubbs District Charity Steward at the Sponsors Board

Recently East Ribble District Freemasons were one of a group of proud sponsor who supported Fenny Reccers Junior Football Club Bonfire Event. Fenny Reccers play on the recreation ground in Feniscowles, Blackburn and the squad consists of 25 boys and 6 girls football teams . They hold a bonfire event every year, but this year all of the proceeds that were raised at the event are being donated to support a local boy called Theo Power. Theo has Neuroblastoma, which is a rare form of cancer that effects less than 100 children in the UK each year. He has already had chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but he still requires specialist treatment in America which will cost £250, 000.

As well as a bonfire and a fantastic firework display by Dave Withers and his team the event also had real ale and mulled wine stalls, BBQ and a DJ. Approximately 3,000 people supported the event along with Theo who enjoyed a chilly but dry and entertaining evening.
