On Sunday, May 18th, East Lancs Freemasons organised a special walking event to celebrate the “Bi-Centenary of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire.” The event brought together friends and families, all for a noble cause. Every year, a new adventure, a new route, and the same desire to get together.

All participants arrived at Hewlett Court for registration before setting off. As this year was a Treasure Hunt of a total of 10 miles, all the walkers were equipped with a map in groups of no more than 6 to maximise participation for everyone who took part.

At the walk, 110 people attended from all over the Province. The RW Provincial Grand Master Robert Frankl, alongside with the VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master John Griffin, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master Dave McGurty, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master Wes Marchant and Area Chairman W Bro Ed Beaman attended the event, alongside with a delegation of members from the East Lancashire Level Club (ELLC).

The success of the event was further amplified by the extraordinary generosity of the volunteers who arrived early to build up the stand and prepared a nice BBQ for the walkers at the finish line.

The charity walks not only generated financial support to the Masonic Charitable Foundation but also created an atmosphere of camaraderie and compassion, with laughter filling the air as participants engaged in conversations and shared stories, strengthening the bonds that held the community together.
