Since its formation in 1960, the Lancashire Youth Brass Band has been a beacon for young musicians in Lancashire and beyond, offering them the chance to hone their skills under the guidance of top-tier tutors and conductors. From its audition-selected members, many have gone on to shine in prestigious bands and orchestras across the country. 🌟

The band isn’t just about music; it’s about building life skills. Teamwork, communication, confidence, and independence are all nurtured here. Members, aged 7 to 18 with an average age of 13, also learn the value of community, becoming great young ambassadors for their county.

🌍 Exciting News! 🌍 The band is gearing up for an exciting tour to Jersey in July 2024! This tour is a fantastic opportunity for our young musicians to collaborate with the Jersey Music Hub and the Jersey Premier Brass Band and perform alongside local talent.

However, taking 50 young musicians on tour is no small feat. The total cost per child is around £400, with flights alone costing nearly £4,000. To make this dream a reality for all members, especially those from low-income families, we’re seeking sponsorship and grants.

Here’s where the generosity of ELMC comes into play! Thanks to our support, they managed to reduce the cost per child to below £300, significantly easing the financial burden on their families.

✨ Special Moment: ELMC was honoured to attend the final concert of the season before the Jersey trip at St. Thomas Church in Lytham St. Annes, represented by W.Bro Paul Spann. The young musicians delivered an outstanding performance to a captivated audience, showcasing their incredible talent and dedication.
