WBro Michael Arthur Bullock PProvJGW

On Saturday 1st February 2020, Concord Lodge No. 757 celebrated the 50th Anniversary of WBro Michael  Bullock PProvJGW in fine style.

The ceremony had over 30 Brethren present and was presided over by WBro Rev Canon Richard W. Hawkins PAGChap, APGM  after accepting the gavel from the  Worshipful Master, John A. Goff.

A District delegation was in attendance, along with some very distinguished guests, it is a measure of Michael’s high regard in Freemasonry with the District Delegation numbering  9 including 5 Grand Officers.

The members and guests heard Michael’s life story and masonic career told by WBro George H. Scaife, PAGDC,the current Lodge secretary. Highlights included Michael’s National Service mishaps and his working career in aeronautical engineering taking him to India, where he met his wife and where he was initiated in to freemasonry. On his return from India he joined the Concord Lodge. He has served as WM and as DC for many years.

The Golden Jubilee Certificate and the personal letter from the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Sir David Trippier, were both presented by the APGM.

The District Chairman, WBro John Cavanagh, completed the presentations with a 50th lapel badge, on behalf of the Audenshaw District. He told the tale of the power of the lapel badge, that Michael was to wear it with pride, as if ever an APGM saw anyone wearing one they were duty bound to offer to buy him a drink.

The social board was a very happy occasion. The dining room was comfortable and with a splendid atmosphere it was a joyous afternoon.

A great afternoon was had by all, one which Concord Lodge 757 can be justly very proud of.
