On a cold and damp Sunday morning on the 27th of October 2019, ten District volunteers came out in force to assist with Marshalling at the Accrington 10k Run in aid of East Lancashire Hospice.  On this occasion, our volunteers also included wives and a dog (which was much better behaved than some of the Masons to be honest).  Approximately five hundred competitors took part in the run and the rain thankfully held off for the majority of the race, only beginning in earnest as one of the last of the runners crossed the finish line.   Duties complete, our wonderful volunteers swiftly headed into the dry surroundings of the Walton Arms for a much needed hot brew.
