Child Action Northwest are passionate about every young person achieving their potential, this results in them supporting over 6,000 young people and their families every year in the northwest. They work to end deprivation, drug and alcohol abuse, lack of self esteem, youth crime, and therefore allowing young people to lead healthy, meaningful lives.
For an equally long time Child Action Northwest has been one of the charities that haver been close to successive East Ribble Charity Steward’s heart and the District have been supporting the annual June pound day for several years
Every year the charity runs what they call an Emojinal Health Campaign, which ends with a large concert to help raise vital funds for children’s mental health support services in Lancashire. This concert involves over 500 children from 18 schools and it is performed at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.
Following an emergency ELMC Grant application, the charity asked if East Ribble could provide volunteers to direct people to their seats and collect donations at King George’s Hall.
As usual the District received a fantastic response, especially from the regular volunteers from Perseverance 345, who came out on a cold night to support the charity by playing their part in making the evening such a success and raising vital funds.
