Members of the East Lancashire Level Club, accompanied by their families, volunteered their time on Sunday 12 July 2026 to support the annual Summer Garden Project at Springhill Hospice.
The day saw volunteers working alongside hospice staff to help maintain the gardens, carrying out a variety of tasks including weeding, pruning, planting and tidying the outdoor spaces. Their efforts helped ensure the gardens remain a welcoming and peaceful environment for patients, families, visitors and staff.
The project brought together members of all ages, with partners and children joining in to lend a hand. Working side by side, the volunteers demonstrated the spirit of community that continues to be at the heart of the Level Club, while making a practical contribution to a local charity that provides invaluable care and support across Rochdale and the surrounding areas.
Springhill Hospice relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers and supporters, and community initiatives such as the Summer Garden Project play an important role in maintaining the hospice grounds. The gardens provide a place where patients and their loved ones can spend time together in peaceful surroundings, making them an important part of the hospice’s service.
