On a cold January day, three East Ribble District Freemasons braved icy conditions to marshal the Blackburn Rovers match day parking on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice.
It was the turn of Newcastle United to play Rovers, and an army of good humoured fans parked at Darwen Vale High School. In fact so many fans came, that the car park was full well before kick off. When some of the fans (home and away) heard that money raised was going to such a worthy cause, they happily made extra donations. Over £600 was raised for the Hospice.
