Cardiac Risk in the Young or CRY as they are more commonly known provide electrocardiogram (ECG) and Echocardiogram screening to young people between the ages of 14 and 35.  The ECG screening diagnoses cardiac abnormalities that could lead to “young sudden cardiac death”.  CRY also provide much needed bereavement support.
CRY pay for the screening events so that they are free to attend and up to 50 people are screened during the course of a day.  Irene Wickers made a request to the East Ribble District Charity Stewards for funding room hire for a future screening event at Darwen Heritage Centre.
The Charity Stewards were eager to support this worthy cause and the cheque was recently presented to Irene by Mike Stubbs (District Charity Steward)
