The Inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the East Lancashire Level Club (ELLC) was held on Wednesday 16th October 2024 at Helmsley House. The meeting saw a strong turnout of brethren from across the province, all proudly representing their lodges. All united under the common goal of fostering Masonic values.

The Meeting was called to order by the Vice President of the ELLC WBro Paul O’Carroll who then passed the floor to the President of the ELLC The RWPGM Robert Frankl for his opening remarks.

What stood out most during his address was the forward-looking vision shared by the leadership. Key talking points were initiatives to engage younger members, promote inclusivity within the Craft, and utilize modern technology to enhance communication. It’s reassuring to see that the senior leadership within the province have such a passion for this to succeed and are willing to support and guide the Light Blue Masons on their journey, not only preserving the rich history of Freemasonry but also adapting to the needs and interests of a new generation.

A highlight of his address was the recognition of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to help get the project off the ground and bring it to a stage where it was possible to hold an AGM and formally announce the club to the wider masonic community seeing brothers who have worked tirelessly to uphold the tenets of the Craft receive well-deserved recognition was truly heartwarming.

Aaron Garner the first Chairman of the ELLC gave a brief address. His address was engaging and his enthusiasm, and passion for the future were infectious, offering insights not only into the successes and tributes of those who created the Manchester Level Club in the past but also looking ahead to the future growth of our Light Blue brethren not just in Manchester but across the entire Province Of East Lancashire.

With such a passionate and enthusiastic committee team and a phenomenal support structure from the leadership. The future of the ELLC and Freemasonry across the Province is at a very exciting time and is sure to go from strength to strength in the future.

Following the formal proceedings, the evening moved into a more relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of time for brethren to reconnect and form new friendships. The banquet was a fitting close to the evening, with good food, and lively conversation, It was a reminder that beyond the rituals and formalities, it is the bonds of brotherhood that keep the Craft thriving.

In conclusion, the 2024 ELLC AGM was an inspiring event. It not only reaffirmed our commitment to the principles of Freemasonry but also laid out an exciting path forward. For those of us in attendance, it was a night to remember – a perfect blend of tradition, community, and vision.
