On the evening of March 26th, the Lodge of Silent Temple No. 126, in collaboration with the East Lancashire Level Club, gathered at the historic Darwen Masonic Hall for an unforgettable night of enlightenment and fraternity. Brethren from across the province came together, united by their shared passion for Freemasonry and their commitment to self-improvement and brotherhood.
As the lodge was opened solemnly, the assembled brethren sensed something special was about to unfold.
The Worshipful Master welcomed all in attendance, including WBro. David McGurty (APGM for the Northern Area) thanked the East Lancashire Level Club for their involvement in delivering an evening of Masonic light—a night dedicated to learning, reflection, and unity.
The highlight of the evening was an inspiring and thought-provoking presentation delivered by Bro. Hiten Patel and Bro. Aaron Garner, supported by dedicated members of the East Lancashire Level Club. This wasn’t merely a lecture; it was a masterful blend of insightful discourse and dramatic storytelling—a play that brought Masonic principles to life in a way that resonated deeply with all present.
As the performance unfolded, the brethren were drawn into a world of allegory and symbolism, witnessing the transformative power of Masonic teachings. The interplay between history, philosophy, and the characters’ journeys on stage illuminated the fundamental tenets of Freemasonry—Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. The dialogue was rich with meaning, the performances were heartfelt, and the message was clear: Freemasonry is more than a society with secrets; it is a journey of self-discovery and moral fortitude.
The audience’s engagement was palpable. Brethren nodded in agreement, exchanged knowing glances, and, at times, sat in profound silence, absorbing the lessons presented before them. It was an evening that reminded each Mason why they had knocked upon the door of Freemasonry in the first place—to seek knowledge, to grow as individuals, and to support one another in that noble pursuit.
Following the presentation, an open discussion ensued, where attendees shared their reflections on the performance and its deeper meanings. Words of appreciation were given to Hiten Patel, Aaron Garner, and all those who contributed to the success of the evening. The Worshipful Master commended their dedication, emphasising how such initiatives strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and inspire Masons to delve further into their craft.
The night concluded with the traditional Festive Board, where camaraderie flourished. Laughter and conversation filled the hall as brethren toasted to the evening’s success, the future of their lodges, and the enduring light of Freemasonry.
As the brethren departed into the crisp night air of Darwen, there was a sense that something profound had taken place. This was not just another lodge meeting—it was a beacon of inspiration, a reaffirmation of their chosen path. The Lodge of Silent Temple No. 126 and the East Lancashire Level Club had delivered an evening of Masonic light that would be remembered for years to come.
This production will be doing the rounds at other Masonic Halls, and I would implore you to see this magical presentation.
