8 September 2025 saw the official launch of the East Lancashire Level Club in our Eastern Area. First and foremost we would like to thank the Worshipful Master and brethren of Ben Brierley Lodge 3317 for hosting the event. We would also like to thank our area APGM John Curry and APGP Doug Smith for joining us on the night and showing the commitment from the leaders of the province to the club.

What is the ELLC?

At the 2024 Provincial Grand Lodge meeting at King George’s Hall in Blackburn, our Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master announced the launch of the East Lancashire Level Club, or ELLC for short and also known in other areas as a light blues club. The ELLC was created for masons who are in the early stages of their journeys right through to receiving provincial honours. Whether you’ve recently been initiated or have been a member for years, the club provides opportunities to build friendships, gain knowledge and to get involved in exciting and engaging social and educational events.

Bro Stephen Ogezo (ELLC Eastern Chairman) began the presentation explaining what the ELLC is, the structure of the club in our area and also provided information on future events . Bro Aaron Garner (ELLC Club Chairman) also provided a brief overview of the club in the other areas of the province.

The evening was concluded with a friendly and fun social board, as always at Ben Brierley.
