Blackburn Foodbank is part of a network of nearly 430 foodbanks that are operated by the Trussell Trust.  The aim of the foodbank is to prevent food poverty and hunger in the Blackburn community.
Last year Blackburn Foodbank provided 8,642 three day emergency food supplies.
Due to the extra demand for food for families during the school summer holidays, Blackburn Foodbank recently requested support from the local community.

The East Ribble District Charity Stewards donated £200 to assist the Foodbank to replenish their stocks.
Assistant District Officer David Gill presented the cheque to Dara from the Foodbank.
