Saturday 19th November saw a packed house for the return of the “Last Night Of The Proms” concert, at St. Aidan’s Church, organised by the Rochdale Masonic Social Committee.
The audience were treated to a rousing programme of music from the Championship winning Wardle Academy Youth and Junior Blast Bands, ably accompanied by local soprano Freda Farnworth, the Rochdale Retirement Choir and the St. Aidan’s Ukulele Band.
They were then encouraged to join in the finale with the old favourites ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Pomp and Circumstance’, concluding with The National Anthem.
A total of £1,430 was raised which will be shared between the Church, the participants and Masonic Charities.
