18 Brethren from the Northern Area, including the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro John Farrington PSGD and the Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals EComp Brian Carter PAGDC, attended the June meeting of the United Grand Lodge Quarterly Communication.
Brethren from both the East Ribble and Burnley and Pendle Districts came together to enjoy an afternoon around London, with many visiting the wonderful Library and Museum at our Headquarters in Great Queen Street and others taking in a walk down the South Bank. The day was rounded with all having an excellent meal at Pierre Victoire in Soho.
The quarterly communication itself was a well attended, interesting occasion, with the Most Worshipful Pro Grand Master Peter Geoffrey Lowndes (presiding) calling Grand Lodge off to receive Dr Vicky Carroll, who gave a very informative presentation on the work and future aims of the Library and Museum of Freemasonry, as it’s newly appointed Director.
Following the meeting, the Northern Area Brethren dined at Official Lunch in the Grand Connaught Rooms, (along with 22 fellow East Lancashire Brethren from the Southern Area) where four of our Master Masons and others from across our area were joined by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Sir David Tripper, capping off what was a truly unique and special Masonic experience for all in attendance.
